Common Blue
Scottish Common Blue Survey 2018
This year we’re trying to find out more about the distribution of Scotland’s only widespread blue butterfly, the Common Blue. It appears to have declined over the past four decades in the whole of the UK, and a recent run of poor summers in Scotland may have resulted in yet lower populations. Sending us your sightings will help us understand more about the places where the species is currently found, and can help inform our conservation work in Scotland.
