A budding lepidopterist has volunteered to undertake the UK's highest bungee jump in the name of butterflies...

Harriet Pickles is in the final year of her degree studying Conservation, Biology and Ecology at Exeter.

Her inspiration to support Butterfly Conservation came from a recent field trip to Lulworth.

Harriet Pickles

Butterflies have always fascinated me. I was out spotting Skippers when I realised what a sad place the British countryside would be without them.

Butterflies and moths are delicate creatures, reacting quickly to changes in the environment. Over three-quarters of our native butterflies have declined in the last two decades. Five butterflies have become extinct in the UK. This is an early warning that cannot be ignored.

Harriet will be jumping on 31 August. Please sponsor her and help save butterflies.

You can donate online by credit card using the form on the right or send a cheque by post. (Don't forget to write 'Sponsor Harriet' on the back of your cheque).
