Help us save the last surviving colony of the Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary
Butterfly Conservation is buying Rowland Wood, an 80- acre wood in East Sussex next to our existing Park Corner Heath Reserve.
This area of woodland supports the last surviving colony of the Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary in South East England.
Rowland Wood also supports other important species of butterfly and moth, including the White Admiral, Grizzled Skipper and Silver-washed Fritillary, as well as a large variety of other wildlife.
Under our care it could become home to many more species.
We need to raise at least £60,000 to pay for urgent woodland management that will allow us to restore and improve habitat at Rowland Wood.
Every pound you give will make a difference in determining whether we can reverse the dreadful declines suffered by this beautiful butterfly.
Rowland Wood is part of the Vert Wood complex, once famous for being a butterfly and moth paradise. We now have the opportunity to bring back part of this magical place to its former glory.
