Kent's last population of Duke of Burgundy butterfly is found in Denge Woods, near Canterbury. Help us improve conditions for these, and other woodland butterflies and moths...
The Denge Woods project area, between Ashford and Canterbury, contains a high proportion of ancient woodland. Working with woodland owners, the project hopes to improve habitat conditions for woodland specialist butterflies and moths.
We recently secured over £45,000 worth of funding from BIFFAWARD to carry out habitat improvements at the main complex of Denge Woods.. to see how these works are progressing, just click here.
We run many events through the year. Next up is a volunteer work party at Forestry Commission's Bonsai Bank, Denge Woods on Sunday 7th February. This follows on from our December work party clearing conifer in the hope of providing more habitat for the Duke of Burgundy.
See the latest project news (below) or events for details.
Can you help us survey butterflies or moths? we always need help, you don't need to be an expert...
