Make your giving go further with Gift Aid

Gift Aid - What is it?
Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most effective ways of giving to charity. Gift Aid increases the value of your donation/subscriptions.
- We can reclaim 28p of tax on every £1 you gave up to 5 April 2008.
- We can reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 you give on or after 6 April 2008.
- The Government will pay Butterfly Conservation an additional 3p on every £1 you give between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011. This transitional relief does not affect your personal tax position.
This means that a £28 Gift Aid single membership subscription, is currently worth £35.90 to us - imagine what a difference that could make to our work to conserve butterflies and moths - and it doesn't cost you a thing.
Gift Aid - Do you qualify?
To qualify for Gift Aid you must pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each Tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that Butterfly Conservation will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year.
Gift Aid - How does it work?
Gift Aid is surprisingly easy to use. Gift Aid can apply to donations and subscriptions of any amount, large or small, by cash, cheque, postal order, direct debit, standing order, debit or credit card.
What's more - one single Gift Aid declaration can apply to all past donations you have made in the last four years and to all future donations you make until you notify us otherwise.
