The Wales Biodiversity Framework sets out the roles and remits of organisations and individuals involved in biodiversity action in Wales.
It aims to build on the strengths of the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP).
Butterfly Conservation leads on the Species Expert Group to develop targets and implements actions for Lepidoptera in Wales.
The targets provide milestones towards conserving 15 of the butterflies and 19 of the moths on the Wales list of Species of Principle Importance (the ‘Section 42’ list).
Actions for about half the species have been drafted with the complete set expected to be finished by February 2010.
More information can be found on the Wales Biodiversity Partnership website. Comments on the draft actions are welcome.
