Join us for a trip to the National Trust’s Ivinghoe Beacon: a large area of chalk downland with a rich flora and a good range of summer butterflies. It offers spectacular views of the surrounding Chilterns from the northern end of the Ridgeway.
We will explore the steep grassland slopes and areas of scrub on this fabulous site. Target species: summer downland butterflies including Chalk Hill Blue and Dark Green Fritillary.
Accessibility & risks: steep and strenuous slopes; as well as rabbit holes, brambles and scrub. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
Please check here the evening before the walk to make sure it is going ahead as planned. This page will be updated regularly.
Meet in the National Trust car park.
