Join us for a field session to practise your identification skills for summer butterflies and day-flying moths. This will take place at the National Trust Bradenham Estate: an estate in an area considered amongst the most scenic in the Chilterns. An area with pockets of good-quality chalk grassland and scrub, on the edge of ancient woodland.

The focus will be on building your confidence in the accurate separation of common species from scarce species, not a long species list.

You will get the most out of this event if you have attended Nick Bowles’ online Zoom training on the key points of Identification (4th July), Booking here:      https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89476278844?pwd=nHkorai1uSfkhmBTuGBvRDTuTiiq7J.1     Meeting ID: 894 7627 8844     Passcode: 080781

A pair of close-focusing binoculars and a butterfly net would be useful if you have them.

Accessibility & risks: some steep slopes and rough paths. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)

Others will do best to drive around the cricket pitch going down Rectory Lane and turning left to park at ///emerge.limit.worm. These people can then walk across the edge of the pitch to the meeting point.
