The Pearl-bordered Fritillary and Chequered Skipper are two butterflies of early summer that we are organising special surveys for this year. Volunteers are needed to look for these species in May and June, and full training and guidance will be provided by Butterfly Conservation staff. Chequered Skipper are mostly found in Argyll and Lochaber, and Pearl-bordered Fritillary have a wider distribution (see map below).

Online workshop: 7pm, Tuesday 7th May 2024. This online workshop will be ran over Zoom, and volunteers will find out how to identify and record these butterflies with the aim of taking part in surveys organised by BC staff. Click here to register your place.
