for the Pearl-bordered and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillaries @ 10.00 - 15.00

Interested in wildlife? Enjoy being outside?
Willing to spend some time looking for butterflies?
Then Dartmoor’s rare butterflies need you!

Learn identification and survey techniques for the Pearl-bordered and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillaries.

Meet at Yarner Wood car park, off the Bovey Tracey - Manaton road (Grid ref. SX785788).

Come along and learn everything you need to know to assist in the annual monitoring of these threatened butterflies and help us to ensure their survival. We will spend the first part of the morning in the Woodland classroom looking at identification of the fritillary butterflies and monitoring methodology, and then we’ll head out to practise our new skills.

Please bring lunch, a drink and waterproofs, and wear wellington boots as some areas can be wet.

Numbers are limited - booking essential
