About the authors

David Tomlinson is a freelance writer on wildlife and countryside subjects. His work appears regularly in a wide variety of magazines, ranging from Country Life to Shooting Times. He first became interested in butterflies as a schoolboy collector in the early 1960s, and has retained his enthusiasm and interest ever since. He lives in Kent with his wife, Jan, and several English springer spaniels.

Rob Still is a qualified ecologist and widely travelled naturalist. A graphic artist with extensive experience of computer based design, Rob has combined this design knowledge with his passion for wildlife to help write and create this guide. He has a particular affinity for butterflies and has produced many items for Butterfly Conservation since 1986.
