Allt Mhuic is an area of grassland, moorland and native woodland between two large conifer plantations on the north side of Loch Arkaig. We run the reserve in conjunction with the Forestry Commission.

The area's special dragonfly, the Azure Hawker, can be found in the wet flushes on the lower slopes. Dippers breed on the burn, while chats and flycatchers frequent the open woodland. Otter, Pine Marten, Golden Eagle, Osprey and Divers are possibilities.
FEATURES
The reserve boasts several orchid species, including Lesser Twayblade and Fragrant. Look out for the large Wood Ant nests.

The reserve is on the north shore of Loch Arkaig, 20 miles due north of Fort William, along a narrow single-track road six miles west of Clunes.

Open all year. There is a car park and information board.
