This reserve is on Forestry Commission Scotland land just a few miles from Dumfries. It has over 20 of Scotland's 32 resident butterflies.

Other wildlife on the reserve includes Red Squirrel, Wood Warbler, Pied Flycatcher and the occasional Nightjar
FEATURES
Most of the forest is Sitka Spruce but there are significant area of ancient oak woodland, wetlands and grassland.
