Our conservation projects in England are managed by our national staff based at our Head Office in Dorset and by our network of regional staff

Conserving the countryside

Adonis Blue on Kidney VetchMany endangered species need our help to survive in different habitats.

The woodlands in South East England have important populations of the Pearl-bordered and Fritillaries.

The endangered Marsh Fritillary is carefully monitored on habitats on the wet grasslands of Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.

The limestone grassland and woodland around Morecombe Bay in Lancashire support populations of High Brown Fritillary, Dingy Skipper and the Duke of Burgundy.

We direct our conservation effort to key regions where we can halt and reverse the decline of our endangered butterfly species.

Culm project manager with a landownerMany of the projects work at a landscape-scale, where our projects co-ordinate the conservation and management of habitats for a range of species across a large natural area, often made up of a network or sites.

All of our projects are run in close collaboration with local landowners and conservation partners, and with our branches who also organise many projects in their areas.

There are many opportunities to help and anyone interested should contact the Project Officer.
