Join us on a trip to the 'Sustrans Track' at East Hagbourne: this is a repeat of the fascinating evening walks exploring what butterflies get up to outside normal 'transect' hours. However, Karen Saxl has now handed over the baton to a new leader. Our route follows the disused railway track, which offers expansive views over the surrounding countryside, and supports an interesting flora and fauna.
We will amble along the track, checking wild flowers and sun traps for 'nectaring' and basking butterflies before they go to roost. Target species: Marbled White, Small Blue and other butterflies of the wider countryside.
Accessibility - level and firm surfaces. A short length of roadside bank to get to the track.
Meet at the Village Hall, East Hagbourne.
