Join us on a trip to Aston Rowant NNR: a 'flagship' National Nature Reserve, managed by Natural England. It lies on the north-west scarp of the Chiltern Hills, overlooking the Vale of Oxford.
We will explore the steep grassland slopes for some of its special grassland butterflies and a particular day-flying moth. Target species: Cistus Forester plus a range of other grassland species that might include Adonis Blue, Grizzled Skipper and Brown Argus.
Accessibility - steep, strenuous slopes, narrow paths and occasional rabbit holes.
Meet at the Beacon Hill car park.
