Join us for a trip to the Greenham Common BBOWT Nature Reserve: part of one of the most extensive tracts of the rare lowland heath in Southern England, a fragile and threatened habitat. Once notorious for the nuclear cruise missiles stored at the air base, it now supports a very special wildlife, including numerous rare and restricted range species.
We will take a gentle stroll across the extensive heath searching the many butterflies, for one of the most restricted-range butterflies in the UTB area. We should also see a wide variety of other wildlife. Target species: Grayling and other butterflies of heathland and the wider countryside.
