Join us for a trip to the BBOWT Homefield Wood Nature Reserve: a small but outstanding nature reserve, within a larger Forestry England site. The woodland contains a mixture of Beech, Ash, Sycamore and Whitebeam; as well as glades and areas of open grassland. It also supports a rich flora and fauna.

We will take a relaxed amble around the reserve looking for some of the summer butterflies of woodland and open spaces. Target species: Silver-washed Fritillary, White Admiral and, maybe Purple Hairstreak.

Accessibility & risks: undulating; gentle slopes, mainly firm paths and some gates. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)

BOOKING

Booking required. Limited parking. Please check here the evening before the walk to make sure it is going ahead as planned. This page will be updated regularly.
