Join us for a trip to the RSPB Otmoor Nature Reserve: an extensive complex of wetlands with important Blackthorn hedges and over 1.5 miles of trails. We will focus on the Roman Road and the wildflower meadows.

We will search the Roman Road for sheltered basking areas and good ‘nectaring’ flowers, in the hope of getting good views of our target species. If we have time, we will also wander the trails and into the wildflower meadows looking for other butterfly and wildlife species. Target species: Brown Hairstreak and other late summer species.

You are welcome to bring a picnic and chat about all things butterfly, moth and conservation over lunchtime.

Accessibility & risks: trails are mainly flat but can be muddy and uneven in places. Benches and gates. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
