Join us for a trip to Shotover Country Park: an extensive area of woodlands to the east of Oxford. The site occupies several valleys and includes areas of grassland, heath and ponds.

We will explore Brasenose Woods and areas of grassland and scrub for summer butterflies and day-flying moths. We will also discuss the status and management of key species. Target species: White Admiral and Silver-washed Fritillary.

You are welcome to bring a picnic and stay with us to chat over lunchtime. We may also continue after lunch if the weather is good and there is enough interest.

Accessibility & risks: Some steep slopes with plenty of trip hazards. Can be slippery and muddy when wet. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
