Join us on a Training Walk at Lodge Hill near Princes Risborough: an area of farmland where work is to be carried out to restore chalk and species-rich grassland habitats, reintroduce cattle grazing, and creating extensive and connected networks of new hedgerows, wildflower strips and rough, tussocky field margins.

This walk is in partnership with the Chilterns Conservation Board and will look at the work planned for this winter by the local farmer as part of the Central Chilterns Farmer Cluster. We will, of course, look at the chalk grassland flora, butterflies, birds and other wildlife on our walk; as well as the panoramic scenery. Target: tips for improving your own land for butterflies, moths and other wildlife.

Accessibility - a 2 -3 hour walk over Chilterns farmland. We will walk up Lodge Hill, a steep but short slope. Bumpy and uneven in places. We will take it slowly with plenty of time to chat about what we see. Benches at the top of the hill.

Limited parking in the small roadside lay-by off Wigans Lane east of Chinnor. We will try to arrange 'lift sharing' to limit car numbers.
