Join us at Glen Finglas on Tuesday 4th June to find out about the Clearwing Moths and how to find them.

Clearwing moths are day-flying moths with apparently clear wings. One of them, the Large Red-belted Clearwing, is a priority species for recording and conservation work. Fortunately we can conduct surveys for this species using special 'pheromone lures' which attract the males of the species if they are in the area.

During this event we will use lures for both Welsh Clearwing and the Large Red-Belted Clearwing which have both been seen in this area before. A limited number of pheromone lures will be given to attendees to take away so they can survey for these species elsewhere, and the focus of the event will be around encouraging volunteers to find and record these species.

Date and time: Tuesday 4th June 2024, 11am - 4pm.
Location: We will leave on foot from the Glen Finglas Visitor Centre at Bridge o'Turk near Callander. Full details will be sent to anyone who registers.
