Cumbria Field Trip The Butterflies of Hampsfield Allotment

Outdoor Events - general advice and information: For all outdoor events, participants should bring suitable outdoor clothing, waterproofs and boots or similar stout footwear.  Bring a packed lunch for whole day events, sun cream and plenty of water in hot weather.

 General safety advice will be given before all our events.  We ask all who attend to take personal responsibility for their own safety and possessions and to pay special regard to trip hazards and the likely presence of ticks. Please advise the field trip leader of any personal health issue or need of personal medication that might compromise the individual.  Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome on our daytime events unless shown otherwise.

If you require further information or wish to check whether an event has been postponed or cancelled due to poor weather, please contact the walk leader before setting out.

Booking We limit numbers for some events for safety and we require booking with the party leader by e-mail as soon as you are able to confirm attendance.  If you need to cancel a booked place, please tell the leader asap so that the place(s) may be offered to others.  Leaders may also be able to answer any individual request for further information.
Directions:  Meet at High Hampsfield Farm, grid ref SD405804 sat nav LA11 6BG.  Parking is limited, and car sharing is desirable for the final leg.
EITHER 1: Approach from Lindale mini roundabout (Audi Dealer)—take B5271 north up Lindale hill, PAST (left) Windermere Road junction and turn next left at the wooden bench seat onto Hollow Lane SD 4120 8087, almost opposite the bypass exit slip road on the right, and BEFORE reaching the Lindale bypass. Follow narrow lane and turn left at signpost/no through road to Hampsfield
Or 2: Approach from Cartmel Lane SD 4012 8124, turning at the opposite end of Hollow Lane. In this case, turn right at the Hampsfield/no through road sign.
Then, in both cases, follow the narrow lane past the first house, then there is a right turn into High Hampsfield Farm driveway SD 4044 8040, sat nav LA11 6LY. We have consent to park at the farm.
To car share, Park on verge of Green Lane (Cartmel to High Newton road)  between Broughton Lodge and Hampsfield Hall. 
Grid ref SD 3918 8060, satnav LA11 6HL and car share as above to High Hampsfield Farm.
