Join us for another trip to the ancient woodland of Epping Forest. For a change of perspective, this walk will take place in the early evening, the peak period for the antics of the Purple Hairstreak. The oak trees in this part of the forest come alive with activity as the shadows lengthen and the day begins drawing to a close. With luck, we might also see a Purple Emperor or White Admiral.

Please meet outside the Epping Forest Visitor Centre (next to the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge) in Chingford. Park on the other side of the road in the Barn Hoppitt car park or in the larger Chingford Plain car park nearby. Please note that parking charges (£4 for 2-4 hours) apply.

Public transport: Chingford Station (London Overground) is a short 10 minutes walk away. There are frequent bus services to and from Chingford.
