Somerset & Bristol: Priddy Mineries (Guided walk)

Priddy Mineries

A joint walk with the Wiltshire branch. Easy and level walking but can be muddy following heavy rain. Stout footwear is advised.

 

Walk Leader: Andy Stafford  Peter Bright will now be leading this walk.

Target species:  Small Pearl-bordered Fritillaries and Chimney Sweeper moths. Other species on the wing are likely to include Large Skipper, Small Copper, Common Blue and Small Heath. Several species of dragonfly are usually seen at the Pools on the site.

Please note the car park has a height barrier set at 1.98m ( 6.6 feet), but parking on the side of road is normally available north of the carpark towards Priddy Pools.

Information that applies to all our guided walks

There is no charge for the walks. Children and beginners are especially welcome. No dogs please as some of the sites have livestock on them.

Except where indicated, all walks start promptly at 11.00 am; please take care to arrive in good time.  They are taken at an easy pace and end around 1.00 - 1.30 pm. 

Many sites include steep, rough or wet ground so stout shoes, boots or wellies are recommended. Please inform the walk leader if you have health problems that might affect you on the walk.
