Meet at 10.00am at Wallasey Sandhills Car Park, known as The Gunsite Car Park, Leasowe, CH46 2RH. What3Words: fixed.went.jacket. Grid Ref: SJ2739 9251

Free parking but there is a three hour limit at Bidston Moss (Junction 1 Retail Park Grid Ref: SJ288913, What3Words: cards.dose.fetch).

The walk at Wallasey Sandhills will be based around the established transect on the site. The target species is Grayling. Reduced to just two small sites on the North Wirral coast, this is our branch’s rarest resident breeding butterfly. Bidston Moss is an increasingly promising and developing site. Both sites offer a range of habitats, and a good mix of butterfly species should be present on the day.

There is a basic but good food vendor in the Bidston Moss car park. Bacon butties, coffee, tea etc as an option for lunch if preferred or just bring your own.
