This location, which follows the route of a disused railway line, is particularly noted for a range of spring butterflies.  The chalk embankments are rich in downland flora, and the micro-climate provides an ideal habitat for the many butterfly species which are seen there each year. The site has easy access and is suitable for wheelchairs.

Target Species: Amongst others, we would hope to see Dingy and Grizzled Skippers, Adonis Blue and Green Hairstreak.

Location: Meet in the car park at SU 191 407 (Map 184). This is located off Allington Track which runs from the A303, just East of Solstice Services, across to Allington village on the A338.
