A large part of Morgan's Hill is a Wiltshire Wildlife Reserve managed to conserve for its diverse flora and insect populations. The site has spectacular views north over the surrounding countryside and is bounded in part by both a Roman road and the Wandsdyke.

Target Species: The chalk downland site faces north making it ideal for Duke of Burgundy which will be the main focus species for the day. Other butterflies regularly seen are Green Hairstreak, Dingy Skipper, Grizzled Skipper, Brimstone, Orange-tip, Wall Brown and Holly Blue.

Location: Meet at the Smallgrain Picnic Area car park SU 0191 6715 (OS map 173). what3words: ///acrobat.operated.promising. The carpark is close to the North Wilts Golf Course on the unclassified road between the A361 north of Devizes to Calne. The site is steep in places so good footwear and good mobility are required.
