This prominent hill just to the North of Mere is a well-known location for butterflies.
Target Species: Glanville Fritillary, and other grassland species.
Location: Meet at ST 797 350 (Map 142). what3words: ///sheets.strikers.paying.
Directions: Access via Whitesheet Lane, by the Red Lion pub on the B3092 Frome to Mere road, about ¾ mile South of Norton Ferris. Bring a picnic if you wish to continue on your own after lunch.
