The activities range across the country and will vary from year-to-year, depending upon priorities, interest and discoveries and will also be held in a variety of habitats from lowland raised bog to woodland to grassland sites.

Marsh Fritillary

The Branch tend to run one each month from November to February and will be listed on the Events section of the website. These are often supplemented by BC project staff which will also be listed on the same Events section. It may be worth listing some of the benefits we believe of taking part in practical conservation tasks:

  • Opportunity to visit sites where you may not ordinarily have access to
  • Learn about the site and why it is important
  • Learn new practical skills
  • Do something practical for conservation
  • A social/network event
  • Mental and physical wellbeing
  • Satisfying and enjoyable experience in the fresh air
