Butterflies in the Park - Eaton Park 6 August 2017

At the kind invitation of "The Friends of Eaton Park" group the branch had a stand there on Sunday 6th August.

Situated near the spectacular circular herbaceous borders, it included a display of moths from the previous night's trapping in a local garden which attracted much interest.

Visitors were encouraged to take part in the Big Butterfly Count, one group submitting their results there and then via smartphone.

Guided walks in good weather around the gardens and two meadow areas enabled members of the public to enjoy watching and photographing what they saw.

A grand total of 12 butterfly species seen along with some day-flying moths, dragonflies and other interesting insects.”

A very enjoyable day.
