27th June 2017 Field Trip to Holme Dunes,
10 people met in a wet and windy car park at Holme Dune and quickly agreed to retreat to the café, where we had a very pleasant chat and coffee and cake while waiting for the rain to ease off.
Ringlets and Meadow Browns were flying when we eventually started walking, but the rain began again and it was still windy. We did find some lovely Marsh Helleborines and Marsh Orchids before giving in to the weather conditions. A skylark sang to us and some spoonbills flew over which was great, but not a good butterfly day at-all.
