Lancashire BC members will be aware that after sterling service a number of committee members have stood down over the last eighteen months leaving vacancies on our committee.
We would like Your support for two types of vacancy:-
Committee members without additional responsibilities To attend 2-3 meetings per year and our annual members day/AGM, to contribute to discussion and planning.
Committee members with additional responsibilities We still have vacancies for Branch Chair, Branch Contact/Organiser, Treasurer and Secretary. If you can help with any of the above vacancies or just want more information please get in touch via our Contact Us page.
New Committee Arrangements
In November 2014 a special committee meeting took place to discuss how best we could develop without a full committee. We are pleased to say that Chris Winnick [ Chair of Cumbria BC ] accepted our invitation to be Chair/Branch Organiser until we can recruit replacements from our membership. It was also confirmed that Butterfly Conservation Head Office will act as Treasurer during this interim period and that all existing committee members will remain in post.
In addition, our Membership Secretary, Alex Parsons, has taken on the additional role of Moth Officer and Ann Smith and Mike Bloomfield have agreed to join the committee.
This is good news as it means we can better plan how to support our membership and our butterflies and moths in their beautiful Lancashire countryside.
